Have you ever heard of DNA adjustments? I first heard about them four years ago when a friend mentioned that spiritual practitioners were offering their services to help people activate dormant strands of their DNA.
The theory is that in addition to the two stranded DNA found in the 23 pairs of chromosomes in every cell of our bodies there are extra strands that geneticists call junk DNA. These junk strands appear to be inactive and therefore some scientists have dismissed them as irrelevant. Various spiritual leaders disagreed; explaining that once activated these latent strands of DNA can bring us into deeper connection with Source energy.
That was about as much as I heard or retained from the conversation. You might say I was closed to the idea. At the very least, I was skeptical. I’d experienced energy healing and seen its positive results first hand, but working at the level of DNA seemed farfetched.
Even more to the point, I didn’t want to allow someone else to monkey around with my DNA, no matter whether they were spiritual healers or doctors specializing in genetics. After all, DNA controls our propensity to develop cancers and other disorders, as well as determining hair and eye coloring and other physical traits. I’d keep my DNA just like I was born with it. Those cards had already been dealt and I’d just play my hand. Thank you very much.
I maintained that attitude for several years despite periodically having friends who I respect tell me that they’d had their DNA spiritually adjusted and that they’d experienced positive and even miraculous results. I just wasn’t interested.
Kundalini as Source Energy for DNA Activation
I was busy with my own spiritual development. It was something I was pursuing without anyone else’s help or guidance. That didn’t mean that I wasn’t undergoing a process of DNA activation of my own though. I just didn’t consider what I was doing to have anything to do with DNA.
For me the process had more to do with kundalini energy. Kundalini is a Sanskrit word meaning roughly “coiled like a snake,” and it refers to an awakening of a bioenergic life force that arises from the base of the spine and activates the seven energy centers or chakras of the body. Kundalini awakening is the goal of several spiritual traditions because it leads to enhanced spiritual awareness. It can be induced through yoga, meditation, psychedelic drugs, and even near death-experiences.
Nineteen ninety was the year I first experienced the awakening of my kundalini energy. When it happened for the first time I was sitting cross-legged in meditation and I had slumped forward since my awareness of my posture had wandered. I felt a growing sense of heat in my pelvis. The energy began to rise and spiral around as it did so. I felt a burst of light, heat, and energy in my first chakra near the base of my spine. Suddenly that part of my body felt alive and aware in an entirely new way. Like shockwaves, vibrations emanated through me.
The energy continued to rise, exploding and activating my second chakra between my navel and the base of my spine. This one too felt alive with radiant energy. As the centers activated, my spine began to straighten out much like a fire hose being filled with highly pressurized water.
The process continued through my abdomen, heart, throat, forehead, and the crown of my head until my spine was fully erect and filled with energy. Each time the kundalini spiraled and rose it caused a new explosion of energy. Finally it burst forth from the top of my head and shot out into the air like a fountain, raining down streams of intensely bright white and golden energy. I felt like I’d been plugged into a power generating station and thousands of volts of high voltage electricity were running through me. It was exhilarating.
For some people kundalini energy is a once or twice in a lifetime experience. For me it became a regular event, occurring frequently when I sat down to meditate for several years. At first it came unbidden. Later I could summon it with a thought. Each time it rose up my spine and lit up me up with high voltage energy much like electricity passing through a heating coil. Sometimes that was all that it did. Other times I channeled so much energy that my limbs spontaneously flailed about. If I hadn’t known what was going on it might have been frightening. Instead I took it in stride and enjoyed the positive after glow.
Over time my kundalini experience changed from one of having flailing limbs and a glowing trunk line along my spine to one of feeling the energy (prana or chi) radiating through my blood vessels or more accurately the energy meridians described by Chinese medicine. Finally the intensity of the energy within my meridians subsided as well, and I began to feel it moving at even more subtle level. That of my DNA.
I felt the kundalini energy radiating through me within the smallest filaments of my body—the DNA contained within each and every cell. I felt the energy glowing like the filaments of light bulb. I recognized that energy as the life force that animates my body.
I was describing this experience to a colleague last week when she told me that it sounded like DNA adjustment to her. That finally prompted me to investigate the subject. So this morning I ventured to the Healing and Regeneration Center in Focus 27 to see what I could find out. And that is the subject of my next post.
